Meet the Crumbl Gang

Welcome to the first ever edition of How’d the Cookie Crumbl? In this column, the Raider Report will give its expert opinion on Crumbl’s newest cookie lineup. This week, we sampled the following flavors: Mom’s Recipe, Lemon Poppyseed, Banana Bread, Macadamia Nut, Strawberry Shortcake, and the highly anticipated Cookies & Cream Cake FT OREO.

I was joined by four THS students: Elijah Dunlavey, Manav Patel, Manas Patel, and Dylan Moore, who each shared their own ratings. Check out the attached video for their full insights on the flavors.

Mom’s Recipe: This is a cookie straight from Mama Crumbl. It has the homemade feel of a classic oatmeal cookie, combined with a toffee profile. The cookie has the perfect level of moisture such that it is not dry all while still containing that classic crumble signature that Crumbl Cookie is renowned for.

Lemon Poppyseed Cookie: This cookie contains a gooey cross-section of zesty lemon batter mixed with a soft cookie and glazed over. The cookies itself had a very strong profile that was reminiscent of lemon meringue, however the glaze was a bit unsettling to the overall texture as it contrasted its soft interior.

Banana Bread Cookie: This cookie is another that has a doughy and moist inside, almost resembling a ripe banana. The surrounding is covered with a thick layer of that classic Crumbl cookie texture and topped with a splash of cinnamon and brown sugar. The cookie itself tasted exactly like banana bread, to the point that it seemed as if they took banana bread extract; however, the flavor remains very even.

  •  8.3/10

Macadamia Cookie: The cookie contains a moist, doughy inside mixed with firm white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts. It has a hard exterior that provides a solid crumble. Despite white chocolate’s reputation, the cookie was a surprise and offered a nostalgic splendor for its consumer. However, the white chocolate limited it from blowing the other cookies out of the water.

  • 7.1/10

Strawberry Shortcake: This is a frosting-rich cake topped with a smooth layering of strawberry jam and contains strawberry chunks in the cross-sections. Despite Crumbl’s history of over-sweetening cookies, this cake came out to be a perfect blend of flavor between the cloud-like frosting and thick strawberry chunks. Mr. and Mrs. Crumbl clearly knew what they were doing while making this one!

  • 9.4/10

Cookies & Cream Oreo Cookie: This cookie offered a perfectly firm cake that did not collapse, and was filled with an ideal amount of cream and was signatured with a perfect dollop of cookies and cream flavored frosting and the batter itself had bits of oreo crunch on the inside. Despite previous Oreo failures from Crumbl, this was a smashing success.
