THS students returned to “grab and go” lunches for early dismissal, a practice not seen since the pandemic.
Today is an Early Dismissal, and yet again, Torrington High School will have a grab-and-go lunch rather than a traditional, 30-minute hot lunch.
Students are not happy with this change. For them, lunch is more than just eating—it’s a chance to relax, recharge, and spend time with friends during the school day. Adding to the frustration is the fact that TMS students have a normal lunch schedule, which some see as unfair to high school students.
There hasn’t been an official explanation for the difference, but speculation suggests that time constraints and the shared cafeteria space make it difficult to serve a full lunch at both schools.
So what do you think: has the middle school taken over the high school’s turf?
