Ella Le is currently a senior at Torrington High School. She is the girls’ captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams, and in the fall she runs cross country. She is the senior Student Council’s executive vice president and is part of several clubs, including Model UN, Young Democrats, and the National Honor Society. After high school, she plans to attend UConn to study marketing management. Outside of school, she enjoys hanging out with friends and watching How I Met Your Mother. She hopes that through The Raider Report she can better connect with her community and raise the Raider spirit.
The THS Costume Day on Halloween was also the day of the 2nd Annual Staff Costume Challenge. Last year, the staff organized by department under the theme “Animated Movies” and the Art Department won. This year, movies was still a theme, but the game changed – and the Science Department shone through as the biggest winners!
Teachers/staff were still using movies as a theme – but any movie this year. The choices ranged from the 1930s to the 2000s, from fantasy to romantic comedies. But it was the group costumes that still made the biggest splash!
Students voted and the results are as follows:
In Third Place … the Administration team as Men in Black
In Second Place … Mr. Clark as Capt. Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean
In First Place … Ms. Norige, Ms. Ferrante, and Ms. Debay as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus
Honorable Mentions go to the following
- World Language Department as characters from the Wizard of Oz
- Mrs. Murphy as Elle from Legally Blonde
- Mr. Rubino & Ms. Goyette as How to Train Your Dragon
Thanks to who all participated, all who voted – and to Ms. Strahowski for coordinating the contest and video!
