Over 100 students at THS were asked their opinion about Columbus Day – should we get the day? Should it be a federal holiday?
In a student lead poll, of 100, the results leaned for ‘no’. Most of the explanations for ‘yes’ giving were because there was no school on Columbus Day. For ‘no’, it was mostly the fact that it should be called Indigenous Peoples Day. Opinions were fairly split down the middle but favored canceling this controversial day or renaming it.
