The Torrington High School boys’ soccer team, led by Coach Jason Apruzzese in his third year, is having a promising season with a current 5–6 record. The Raiders have battled through close matchups across the NVL, including a 3–2 comeback win over Watertown.
Apruzzese, along with assistants Eric Mahar and Patrick Anderson, has emphasized growth, communication, and teamwork this season. “We’ve had ups and downs, but we’re learning to fight until the final whistle,” said one Torrington senior.
The Raiders have secured solid wins over Kennedy, Wilby, Crosby, Woodland, and Watertown, showing flashes of strong defense and organized attack. With only a few games left in regular season play, Torrington looks to finish strong and build momentum heading into postseason competition.
