Students and staff react to being in the new building
"I personally thought the new cafeteria looked like an airport, it's just so modern and polished."

THS students and staff moved into their new space on January 22, 2025, and are starting to become accustomed to their new learning and teaching environment. The Raider Report touched base to see how everyone is settling in.  Check out views of the space from our report on the Open Houses that took place in early January.

  • “The library is very spacious.”

  • “I definitely like how colorful it is.”

  • I like how each floor is color-coded, I feel like it’s easier to navigate it. I think because it’s brand new, it’s refreshing, it’s easier to learn.”

  • “I really love the opportunity that is going to be afforded to us in the future once everything is officially like installed and ready to go.”

  • Part of the technology classrooms

  • “I think it’s really beautiful, a really sleek environment.”

  • Struggles? “Cafeteria definitely, it’s a lot smaller, and a lot more cramped during lunch waves.”

  • “Music really got spoiled with a lot of things that we got for these new buildings. I really love the opportunity that is going to be afforded to us in the future once everything is officially like installed and ready to go.” For example: “The way the piano room will be able to run is very innovative in the way that we will be able to have kids collaborate with each other and explore piano in different ways in the past.”

  • Instrument storage

  • “There is one elevator that is restricted use, and you can only use it to go to the fourth floor.”

  • “It feels really blank right now.”

  • “The hallways are just really small.”

  • A view of the staircase during passing period in the new THS Building.

  • Middle school cafeteria being used as the weight room during Spring 2025. “We are kinda borrowing the middle school setup.”

  • “The bathrooms because they have mirrors in there now; there weren’t mirrors in the boys bathroom in the old school.”

  • Foods Room

  • “I feel like the environment in classroom is a lot more engaging. Some people see it as a con but I think that by being much closer in proximity to a teacher is a lot better for viewing angles. It feels a lot like a college lecture hall.”

  • Guidance Offices

  • “I like the design and stricter and the fact that it is climate control is gonna be very nice. It has a good new house feeling to it.”

  • “The parking could definitely be improved.”
