Our school currently does not have the best air; many say it is stuffy as well as not very clean. Along with that, the dust from construction is no help to improving the air quality.
In our new school, you can expect better air quality, making it easier to breathe. There is going to be a whole new air system in the school. This system is said to be bringing in more fresh air as well as creating a higher percentage of processed air.
The only downfall revolving around this new system is that if it breaks down, school must be canceled due to the fact that our new windows do not open. No need to worry about the dust from construction as grass will be planted there to prevent the spread of dust in the air.
Our school is very old; there have been fallen tiles, mystery stains, and who knows what “diseases” could be hiding in the walls. To prevent the spread of any mold or other things hiding in the school, Principal Mr. Scott said, “there will be an abatement process to remove any safety concerns in the current building before they are exposed in the demolition process.”
Demolition of the school will not happen all at once to prevent lots of dust in the air. Once in the new school, A building will be deconstructed then B building will be deconstructed during the summer.
Another improvement will be in the bathrooms. The bathrooms in the new school are said to be quite nice and should be working properly. There is not much of a plan to prevent vandalism in the new bathrooms except the hope that students will respect them because they are new. The water in A building was said to be blue which could be a health concern. Let’s hope we can keep our new school in good condition.
