This is the class of 2026’s Junior Year, and it’s sure to be a very exciting one! There are many fundraisers and fun activities, as well as planning things for next year like senior outing, prom, and all of our senior year activities.
Class president Brendan Keskula was interviewed to answer some of these burning questions. Brendan gave us the inside scoop of all the good stuff coming up this year, such as bake sales at Stop & Shop and Walmart throughout the year. This year we are having Hot Cocoa Grams again which will be sold in December. And of course, there has to be Valentines rose grams being sold in February. There are even more fundraisers to come! Class of 2026 is also hosting this year’s winter formal that is going to have a Valentine’s Day theme, and is anticipated to be on Friday, February 14, 2025, so show up with your valentine for some fun!
All of the funds that are made off of these fundraisers go right back to the class of 2026, especially into the prom fund. By fundraising, it can make the ticket prices for prom and senior outings less expensive. The class of 2024 had to pay $90 just for one prom ticket. If there is enough participation in these fundraisers, the cost can be reduced!
The prom will take place at Grand Oak Villa, and if the fundraising this year goes well, the student council can pay for a DJ, photo booth and maybe even an ice cream bar, as those are all extra expenses. So far there isn’t a prom theme, but with the class of 2026 help you can decide. A poll will be up and running where you can put all your prom theme suggestions in the Class of 2026 Google Classroom, so keep an eye out to have a say!
Keskula said, “If we can show our school spirit, we can win the Battle of the Classes this year, and beat out the Seniors”. The class of 2026 would love to have the bragging rights over the Seniors this year and win. To get the Battle of the Classes points, you can participate in the spirit days and go to Ms. Sullivan in room 2403 to get a point for your class.
