We’re back at you with last week’s sweet valentine Crumbl specials in the third edition of How’d the Cookie Crumbl?. In this column, the Raider Report gives its expert opinion on Crumbl’s newest cookie lineup. This week we tried four of Crumbl’s new Valentine specials: Valentine’s M&M Cookie, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Strawberry Cake, and Molten Lava.
I was joined by three THS students: Elijah Dunlavey, Manav Patel, and Manas Patel. Again, there will not be a video for this week.
Valentine’s M&M Cookie: This cookie contains the basic, simple classic elements of a homemade M&M cookie. Similar to the simplicity offered up by the Brownie Batter cookie last week, this cookie was a slice of childhood, yet, better. Instead of an overpoweringly sweet or somewhat dry cookie, the chocolate offered a rich texture that was aided by a moist and yet crumbly batter. Basic, but great.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry: Crumbl has been 50/50 with its strawberry cookies in the past, but this one slaps! The cookie is a rich brownie cookie, topped with a pink strawberry frosting and chocolate swirls. While the brownie cookie itself wasn’t phenomenal (that isn’t to say it wasn’t absolutely delicious) the frosting offered a slice of heaven by perfectly capturing the light, tart, essence of a strawberry. Forget Cupid’s arrow, mama Crumbl did her own magic when making this treat!

Strawberry Cake: Behold, we have another Crumbl cake… If you have not followed up on the past issues, Crumbl cakes tend to be the worst rated treats by the Raider Report due to their overpowering flavor. This cake follows this trend, however, is not by any means bad. The treat has Crumbl’s signature two layer cake with frosting in between and topping the treat, however the sweetness of the strawberry was subdued creating a very light feel. The cake wasn’t overpowering and slightly surpassed the expectations for a strawberry cake. Good work Crumbl!

Molten Lava: Whether you were with someone, without, or suffering from tumultuous heartbreak, this cookie was made for everybody! The cake was similar to that of a Pizza Hut or Domino’s Molten Lava Cake, however, what made this cake superb was its lightness and rich flavor. The flavor of the molten chocolate offered a dark cocoa taste rather than some cheap milk chocolate filling. The cake itself also had a very light feel that made the cookie feel almost healthy. This treat is the guilty-free version of the classic lava cake.
