Outdoor Track

The track and field team is more than just a sport: it’s a hard working, welcoming, and supportive community where athletes push themselves to improve while building supportive friendships. Junior Kajeda Fraser loves seeing her teammates excel, saying, “At meets, we all show up for each other.” Fellow Junior Ella Le agrees, sharing how the team gave her “a sense of confidence and belonging.”

With a wide variety of events like sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, and throws—there’s a place for everyone. “If you can’t run long distances but you’re fast, try sprinting. If you hate running, maybe you’d be great at jumping or throwing,” Le explains. Athlete Brendan Keskula describes the team environment as “extremely welcoming,” with opportunities for everyone to find what they’re good at.

For those that are unsure about joining, the message from the team is simple: give it a shot! “What’s the worst that can happen?” Keskula says. “You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

Girls Tennis

The girls’ tennis team is more than just a sport: it’s a fun, welcoming, and supportive community. Senior Ainslee Campbell highlights the strong bonds she has formed with her teammates and coaches, describing the team as upbeat and full of energy. Junior Avery Goodwin agrees, calling the environment “fun, friendly, and competitive,” where players can improve their skills while making lasting friendships.

Practices are a mix of warmups, drills, and scrimmages, ending with a team huddle to reflect and grow together. Beyond improving as athletes, players learn valuable life lessons, like resilience and confidence, that carry over into all aspects of life.

For anyone hesitant about joining, the message is clear: to just go for it! No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to work hard and have fun. As Goodwin puts it, “You won’t regret it. It’ll be your favorite season!”

Baseball

With a new season underway, the baseball team is ready to hit the field with confidence and high expectations. Senior Jack McCoy is especially excited to get back to work with his teammates. “I enjoy being around the team and spending every day working and trying to get better,” he says. The team is experienced, eager, and ready to compete, with one big goal in mind—winning a state championship.

Baseball at THS isn’t just about the game: it’s about the bond between teammates. McCoy describes it as a brotherhood, built on hard work and shared dedication. One of his favorite memories was his sophomore year when the team turned a rough 2-5 start into a ten-game winning streak. Moments like that show just how much this team fights for each other and for success.

For anyone thinking about joining next season, McCoy has some advice: be ready to put in the work. “The brotherhood is unmatched and the coaches are great, but baseball isn’t just a three-month sport,” he says. With a strong team dynamic and a winning mentality, THS baseball is set for another exciting season—and there’s no better time to be a part of it.

Lacrosse

Lacrosse is making its debut at our high school, and Head Coach Mr. Golino encourages anyone to give it a try, no experience is needed. Since this is a brand new team, most players are starting fresh, and the focus is on learning the basics together.

Practices will run like any other high school sport, despite limited field space due to construction. While the team is currently considered a club sport, Coach Golino is optimistic about competing against other teams in the near future. His main goal for the first season is to build a strong foundation, emphasizing discipline and patience as players develop their skills.

Joining lacrosse is a unique opportunity to be part of something new. As Coach Golino puts it, “New building, new sport.” Whether it’s your only sport or a way to stay in shape for another season, lacrosse offers great cardio, strength training, and teamwork. Now’s the time to help shape the future of this program, why not be a part of history?

Golf

With a new season comes new leadership for the THS golf team as Coach Anderson takes over for Coach McKenna. While the change is big, junior Owen Fenn is confident in the transition. “I’ve known Coach Anderson since last basketball season, and I think he’s going to be a good fit,” he says. “It’s going to be a fun season, and I’m excited to see what we can do.”

Golf is a sport that challenges both the mind and body, and Fenn believes the mental side is just as important. “You never know when you’re going to hit a bad shot or get unlucky. What really matters is the next shot—always looking forward, not backward,” he explains. Last season, his hard work paid off when he made the All-NVL team, which he considers his best golf memory.

For anyone thinking about joining, Fenn says to go for it. “Even if you’re not good enough to play in matches, you can still join and get good practice. Plus, being on a team is a great way to make friends.” With Coach Anderson bringing new energy and a team ready to compete, THS golf is set for an exciting season ahead!

Softball

Softball season is here, and for junior Sophia Pergola, the sport has been a huge part of her life. She’s been playing since she was five, so after 12 years, the game feels like second nature.
One of her favorite memories is from her freshman year when she first joined the team. “I was nervous and excited, but everyone was so welcoming,” she says. “They made me feel really good about everything I was doing, and the team had such a great attitude.” That positive and supportive atmosphere is what makes THS softball special.
When it comes to being a great softball player, Pergola believes it’s all about coachability, adaptability, teamwork, and attitude. Her advice for anyone thinking about joining? “Just go for it! You might have some failures, but if you work hard, the successes will come. And never be afraid to try something new.” With that mindset, the THS softball team is ready to take on the season!

Boys Tennis

With the season just getting started, the THS boys’ tennis team is ready to hit the courts with high energy. Senior Vansh Patel is excited for his final season and the chance to compete with his teammates. “It’s bittersweet to be ending my high school tennis career, but this season will be very rewarding.  Ithink we’re going to surprise some people,” he says.

Patel loves the mix of individual and team competition in tennis. “Every match is on you, but at the same time, we’re all out here supporting each other,” he explains. As for advice to new players? “Just try it. You don’t have to be amazing to start, and you’ll get better fast. Plus, it’s a great way to stay active and meet new people.”

THS boys’ tennis is looking forward to making some noise on the courts this year!
