During the 2025-26 winter sports season, 11 individuals were chosen because of their leadership, management, and responsibleness. Each captain took on the season head first and exemplified what it means to be a Raider in a lead position, no matter the obstacles they face.
From restricting facilities, to a small number of people, these individuals have risen to the challenge and helped carry their team to success through and through.
Indoor track and field senior captains Makayla Rodriguez, Ella Le, Kajeda Fraser, Joseph Daniel, Devin Ballard, Juan Batista, and Brendan Keskula have all come to the common conclusion that though they all faced challenges such as snow on the track for the last month of their season, they’re incredibly proud of the team and their progress. The team’s teaching of “discipline and independence” as Batista states, work hand in hand to help the team to victories and is what led “a majority to the NVLs” Daniel explains.
As for the girls side of things, throw Captain Fraser and jumps Captain Rodriguez recognize that their event group especially is limited in their practice space due to the inclement weather. Regardless, they saw the team “come together and perform to the best of their abilities at every opportunity” Fraser happily relays and “the amount of support they had for each other was something they haven’t seen”.
Swim captain Nick Borja also calls out his team’s growth and explains that “they’ve been growing together as a whole and preparing for. . . NVL’s” as well. He has come to terms with their numbers and makes sure that the crowd knows they’re small but mighty!

On the basketball side of things, it is once again a matter of watching the team grow in the right direction. Annabel Omara and Eliana Goodwin lift their girls up constantly and their leadership is what helped lead them to multiple wins in their season.
Dominic Evan Lewis shows compassion through his hard work as well as team work and jumps to opportunities to help his teammates out when needed. His success and aid in multiple winnings as well provides a terrific image for the raiders and coach Gamari recognizes his efforts profusely and can’t wait to see him thrive through his final year in high school during the 2026-2027 season.
