Holiday spirit was on full display throughout Torrington High School as students transformed hallways across all four floors for this year’s annual Holiday Hallway Decorating Contest.
Each grade’s Student Council, with help from classmates, was assigned a hallway and a theme, turning the building into a festive showcase designed to spread cheer throughout the school. Once the decorating was complete, staff members toured the hallways and cast their votes to determine the winners.
After all the votes were tallied, the results were announced:
-
Fourth Place: Freshmen — Candy-Land
-
Third Place: Seniors — Gingerbread
-
Second Place: Sophomores — Holiday in NYC
-
First Place: Juniors — The Polar Express
Congratulations to the junior class for taking first place with their winning Polar Express theme, and to all classes for their creativity and teamwork.
Student Council members and student volunteers put in hours of planning and decorating to bring each theme to life, filling the school with color, creativity, and holiday cheer. A big thank-you also goes out to the staff members who took the time to visit each hallway and vote.
For those new to the tradition, the Holiday Hallway Decorating Contest is a yearly event that encourages school spirit and collaboration across grade levels. Each year, students look forward to seeing how their classmates transform familiar spaces into festive scenes — and this year was no exception.
Thanks to everyone who participated, voted, and helped make the school feel a little more magical this holiday season.
