E-Day is scheduled to be on Tuesday, November 25, the last day before Thanksgiving Break. This is the third year E-Day has been a thing at Torrington High School and is likely far from the last!
E-Day is a school event that was run twice in the 2024-2025 school year and once the year prior to it. During E-Day, students choose one long session or two shorter sessions. Past sessions have included cookie trades, digital art with I-Pads, coffee house, reading, different movies, and much more. There should be a session to spark everybody’s interest.
This year, E-Day is going to look a bit different. First of all, it is on a half-day; because of this, the whole day will be full of different activities. There will still be one to two sessions for each student to attend, but on top of that, there will be a pep rally and a ¨lunch for all students.¨ according to Mr Scott. There will also be a ¨school-wide advisory session¨ and ¨a lunch for all students.¨ These claims were very brief and do not go into depth.
Mr. Scott disclosed that ¨E-Day was not an original idea, but the way it is run at THS has a unique spin on it.¨ The reason why this is a recurring school event is because Mr Scott strongly believes that it is a great opportunity for students and different staff members to build bonds and connections with each other. He stated that each student should have at least one adult they have a connection to.
Students will start applying for sessions on November 18, starting with Seniors. Juniors will get the ability to apply soon after, then Sophomores will have the ability to pick their sessions, shortly after that, the Freshmen will have their chance to pick a session.
