Two teams from our school participated in the National High School Ethics Bowl held at the University of Connecticut on Saturday, competing against 14 schools from across the state. Participating schools included Masuk, Guilford, ESUMS, Cheshire High School, Trumbull High School, Rosemary Choate, New Canaan High School, Fairfield High School, Hopkins, and Hotchkiss, with several schools fielding multiple teams.
Our teams delivered an outstanding performance, securing first-time victories over New Canaan High School, Hotchkiss, and Hopkins; this was an important milestone for the program.
In closely contested rounds, THS also faced split decisions against Fairfield and Masuk, with three-judge panels narrowly awarding each match by a 2–1 margin. Based on overall results, THS was likely just one win away from advancing to the finals for the state championship.
This marks the strongest performance our school has ever achieved at the Ethics Bowl and reflects the students’ preparation, teamwork, and ethical reasoning skills.
Students who represented our school include: Samiya Samad, Dan Smith, Chase Elliot, Matt Tsai, Jocelyn Piechowski, Gabe Mazzachane, Nate Peplar, Brenden Keskula, Carlos Noel, Samira Grano De Oro, Imtinan Alam, and Nathaly Ruiz Borja.
